SUSTAINABILITY

America's Leading Beverage Companies Make 100% Recyclable Plastic Bottles including caps

American's leading beverage companies - The Coca-Cola Company, Keurig Dr Pepper and Pepsi Co - unite to reduce new plastic use and increase collection of their valuable bottles through a new sustainability initiative. This initiative is being executed in conjunction with the World Wildlife Fund, The Recycling Partnership and Closed Loop Partners. Industry is investing $100 million, to be matched for an equivalent of $400 million, to improve sorting, processing and collection in areas with the biggest infrastructure gaps to help increase the amount of recycled plastic.

The initiative includes:

  • Measuring industry progress in reducing the use of new plastic in the US

  • Improve the quality and availability of recycled plastics in key regions

  • Launch a public awareness campaign to help consumers understand the value of 100% recyclable bottles

  • Work together to leverage our packaging to remind consumers that our bottles are 100% recyclable and can be remade into new bottles.

Why PET?

What makes our bottles unique is what they’re made from. It’s a light and strong plastic material called PET that’s in high demand because it’s 100% recyclable and can easily be remade into new plastic bottles and many other everyday products.

Industry reduces virgin plastic use

America’s beverage companies have saved HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of pounds of raw materials through lightweighting and packaging reduction.
